KCD Legal Nurse Consulting

About Us

I am a Registered Nurse with over 12 years of nursing experience. Before that, I was a Psychiatric Technician working with the Developmentally Disabled, Mentally Ill, and Substance Abuse populations. Throughout my career, I have advocated for patients and their families to get good medical and mental health care. I have worked in hospitals, long term care facilities, home based healthcare agencies, and telephone triage.

Though I still practice clinically at this time, I felt it was time to expand my practice. The healthcare industry as a whole has its issues (though that can be said of most industries) and, at this point in my career, I want to advocate for good healthcare.

After completing my intensive training to become a Legal Nurse Consultant, I obtained my certification. I then completed the apprenticeship program as well. I feel that by shifting my focus to the industry and to health in general through the legal world, I am still advocating for patients. This time, however, I am advocating for all patients, not just one at a time.

If I can assist in keeping non-meritorious cases out of court and assist meritorious ones in winning, I will have done well. It does not matter if I work for the defense or plaintiff, the medical facts remain the same and my job as a consultant is to give a “good, bad, and the ugly” report to my attorney client. There should be no surprises for the attorney in court.

As a CLNC, I have access to a wide range of subcontractors in every specialty known to medical science. This sets me far apart from other Legal Nurse Consultants. I can confidently and accurately review any case with a medical component from Medical Malpractice to Personal Injury, from Toxic Torts and Product Liability, to family law and Worker’s Compensation.
